EU Funding

of Almi Invest’s venture capital projects

Almi Invest carries out investments in startups and growth companies across Sweden through regional and national venture capital projects. The mission is to strengthen access to venture capital in early stages and contribute to innovation, growth, and long-term development throughout the country.

Almi Invest’s venture capital projects are co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The EU’s co-financing is an important enabler of this mission and reflects the trust placed in us, through public procurement, to manage venture capital projects that contribute to innovation, sustainable development, and regional growth.

The venture capital projects co-financed by the EU invest in startups and growth companies in early stages and are carried out together with private, independent co-investors. The investments are market-complementary and aim to strengthen the companies’ ability to grow and develop.

The EU co-financing makes it possible to carry out this important mission in regions and segments where access to private venture capital would otherwise be limited. It also recognizes the role of these venture capital projects in strengthening competitiveness and sustainable growth in Sweden.

Each venture capital project is presented in more detail on the respective fund page, where it is stated that the project’s investments are co-financed by the European Union.
