Småland & the Islands has a small team, which means we work broadly and cover all sectors.

What I look for when investing

First and foremost, I look at the team behind the product or service – the composition of the team, whether it’s women, mixed or male teams. For me, it is important to understand how the company plans to bring its product or service to market, how long that is expected to take, and what the overall goal of the venture is.

Previous experience

My experience is very broad – I have worked as a wooden boat builder, restaurant manager, department manager at H&M, construction carpenter, interior carpenter, and entrepreneur, where together with a partner I built a healthcare group with 300 employees.

I have also worked as head of business development in two municipalities in Småland, section manager at Region Jönköping for innovation and enterprise, and now as Investment Manager at Almi Invest – plus many other valuable experiences along the way.

Board assignments and education

I sit on several boards within Almi Invest and in our portfolio companies. I greatly appreciate the opportunity to influence and support entrepreneurs in realising their goals and visions. I have completed Styrelseakademien’s board training and am a certified board member.

Specific projects and investments

For me, diversity in the companies we invest in is very important. I get particularly excited when there are mixed or female teams behind a company.
